mistakes happen...right?

so, i'm sitting here staring down the barrel of a post that i'd rather not have written. i made a mistake...a pretty big one. i hurt the one i love the most and there's nothing i can do to fix it. well...i can try, but there's no guarantee that it will work.

now, before you pick up the phone to ring dr. phil to help me with some crisis intervention, or text me the number of your favorite shrink. let me clarify a little....

some of you may know that sharon and i having a small photography business that we are trying really hard to make grow. it's been a great year for us...lot's of new experiences and trials. but at the center of it...we've both (i think) really enjoyed getting to work at it together. don't get me wrong...we but heads for sure...we don't always look at things the same way. but at the end of the day, i think we both really enjoy it...i know i do!

well...one of the unspoken joys of taking pictures for a living is the ongoing struggle of hard drive management. hi-res photographs take up a lot of space...and so...we've had to continue coming up with creative ways to accomadate our ever increasing library of pictures. recently, we purchased two new 1TB drives. one for storage, and one for back up. the tough part was, we didn't need to just start adding more on to the new drives, but we actually had to copy some files from our existing drives to this newer...larger drive. no problem! right?

well...i bought the drives, copied the files, tested the new ones...(big breathe)...deleted the old ones. i thought i had done it right...until yesterday, when i received a frantic call asking about this picture and that picture....

"where did you put them?" came from the other end of the the phone line.

being the eternal optimist and confident in what i had done...i searched...positively sure that i would find the missing pictures. i wish i could throw you a curve and say that i found them all...but as you can read in the title of this post...mistakes happen. and i made a big one.

we've got some perspective. we realize that pictures don't take the place of people. but i'm here to tell you that i feel pretty lousy. i'll need to get over that and move on long after sharon helps me move my stuff back in from the dog house.

I'm sorry, for both of you. Ugh. Actually, I am gonna say a prayer that you find those photos!
So, do you know what you did wrong Jeramy so that others (myself) don't do the same?

Been praying about this J. Didnt want to mention it first and make you somehow feel worse. Real people make real mistakes and experience real accidents. I'm sorry you guys had to go through this. Painful regrettable learning experience. Humbly get back on your feet and keep going man. Can't have a good man like you down for long! In time Sharon will let you back in - some time in Fall when it cools off and you're not shedding so badly!

Oh my! So sorry about that, I knew something big was happening with your pictures. Hope it is possible to get them back. Maybe that look on Paddy's face the other day was from sharing his crate with you?
