i know that look

a buddy of mine and his wife just had a little boy.

as i looked at the picture on FB of my bud holding his boy, i remembered the day my own little boy (not so little anymore....he's 13....WHAT?) was born.  i was only 22, but i can say without a doubt that even in the midst of all my immaturity and inexperience, the wonder of that moment was not lost on me.  there's something incredibly special about a man holding his own boy child.  you know every thought they will ever think.  every scheme they'll ever try to pull.  every emotion that they'll ever bury in their heart.  you'll be able to read it in their eyes forever.  it's a wondrous connection.

so cheers to you bud!  i'm so excited to watch your boy grow up and happy for you to start this new chapter in your life.
