oh no! tyrone!

well....i think, my special gift is going to see an artist play when they're opening for someone else that i've never heard of and then falling in love with the headliner that i don't know. are you following me? i've done it before....i went to see keith varon (who is fantastic) and as my bud and i were walking out of the sweetwater we were stopped cold by the amazing songwriting prowess of mike gibbons (love this guy!).

anyhow...thursday night, sharon and i went with our amazing friends steve and michelle to cafe du nord (our favorite local venue) to see jason reeves and tyrone wells. you may remember us going to cafe du nord a little earlier this year to see brooke fraser....fantastic!

so...like i was saying....we went to see jason reeves....for me, mostly i was hoping that his songwriting buddy would magically appear from backstage....no such luck. jason was amazing. as previously stated....he's way to young to write as deep as he does. it was the first night of the tour...and you could tell he wasn't totally comfortable....but you should definitely keep this dude in your radar.

now....we had never heard of tyrone. but let me tell you....from moment one this guy was on point! i think i said, "WOW" after every song. he was confident. his songs were accessible....thought provoking.....inspiring....i can't say enough. i wrote 5 songs just sitting there. i am hooked! tyrone is my new hero. check out his page. go buy his music. support this guy. he's the real deal. we got the opportunity to chat with him after the show and was totally impressed. down to earth. honest. thoughtful. an amazing night!
