well, i've been stressed out a LOT lately (please pray for us on thursday)- and i've had back pain for the past year and a half.. don't know if they are related. but for my back pain, i stretch it a lot- and then for stress and back pain, definitely excersize helps a ton- so long as it doesn't hurt- so for me, swimming or biking, or just walking around. a hot tub is good too.

i take advil, but i used to take aleve, some people think that works better for back pain. it lasts longer.

Chiropractic! Seriously. I started seeing my chiro in October 2007 for really bad myofascial/shoulder pain. The difference is amazing.

If it weren't for stress I'd have no energy at all.... but when it gets to my back... I take a long nap!

Massage those muscles! Ice will help if your muscles are inflamed 20 minutes at a time.Stretching is also good!. Pray honey!!

I could NOT sleep the night before last because my BACK was aching so BAD! EVERY time I had to roll over due to the pain in my lower back it would wake me up!!!
I am not taking anything... I am trying to strengthen my core to see if that will help...
I dont think my hubby would like me to take the chiropractic route... HA! HA! HA! That's an inside joke... Let it remain so...

I get stress in my back and shoulders too. Whenever it gets too bad, I have these crazy Russian women massage the hell out of them. I usually end up screaming during the massage in pain and can't move afterwards. But the next day, I feel much better.

I forgot to add, part of my chiropractic treatment is to receive a 30 minute massage at each visit. I keep that monthly appointment even if the back/shoulder pain is minimal because there's no way I'd pass up the massage! :-)

ok, YES YES and YES! so sick of back & shoulder pain let me tell ya! I agree with Amanda, massage has always helped me, especially when you find someone really good. But once a month was all I could go and that wasn't cutting it for the other 30 days or so. My massage therapist starting using this product at the end of my massage and I really love it. Just make sure you wash your hands really good after applying, it's called Biofreeze...give it a try, it really does help me.
Good post btw, look at all of the people who share this problem, maybe we need our own support group lol.
