Move the Island?
Ok...so needless to say, last nights season finale of LOST was amazing! I know, I know, I'm sure there's some of you reading that either used to watch LOST and don't any more, or have never seen it at all....well...for you folks, just tune out for now. I love LOST! From the beginning (well...from 3/4 of the way through season 1) I've been hooked. Now, don't get me wrong, I've been mad at times. I've been annoyed....HUGE gaps between new episodes, old questions never get answered, new questions constantly arrive....but the fact remains that I just love the show.
In last night's riveting 2 hour episode and the end, they moved the island. No kidding. Actually moved it. In the story they move it so that no one can ever find it....hmmmm.....I wonder if the same is true for Isla de Muerta? I digress... Even though it was a bit cheesy....it's still pretty amazing.....and that got me thinking...what type of mind does it take to think..."of course....I can move an island". Do you need to believe that you can do anything? Do you need to think that you're entitled? Are you just to oblivious to think any different? Or does it take something bigger then that? Faith maybe?
Now obviously, I'm not talking about a real island in the ocean...but maybe for you it's a tough co-worker, or an ongoing issue with your spouse? We've all got things in our life that seem impossible to overcome. I think, the key is that we need something bigger then ourselves to help us overcome. Our own strength is not enough.
In the bible there's a verse that says if we have the faith of a mustard seed (that's small) that you can move mountains. Maybe your not into the whole God thing....but it's worked in my life. His power is big enough, and His grace is large enough for us all.
Take care!
Jeramy
